An Exciting Weekend of Tango in Malvern

This weekend Bilijana Lipic is coming to Tango Malvern. She's an inspiring, creative and generous teacher/dancer who empowers people to discover their own best tango.

Four workshops, a milonga on Saturday night and a strawberry tea dance on Sunday. A weekend not to be missed.

I shall be there!

A Quiet Week for Tango

Too busy with other things at the moment, not much time for tango.

On Wednesday I'm running another of my practicas for Tango Malvern. All levels of dancers are welcome and you don't need a partner because in a practica anyone can ask someone to dance. Doors open 8.15pm and we finish at 10.30pm.

Over the weekend I must find somewhere nice to dance. There appears to be nothing in Bristol or Oxford so I might even go down to London on the train. Watch this space!

Birthday Week Tango

It's my birthday towards the end of this week, and this is what I plan...

On Monday I planned to go to Loyd & Sandra's workshops in Malvern. Unfortunately by lunchtime I was sneezing and sniffling so thought it was better not to spread any germs by dancing. So didn't make it. But I've been going to their Gallo Ciego Tango School in Birmingham for many years, and I'll get to see them again soon.

Wednesday is my practica at Tango Malvern and I shall take chocolate cake to share on my birthday week. And I hope to get a birthday vals too. If you click on the bandoneon to the right you can see copy of my playlist, I have included an interesting and challenging tanda at 10pm. 

On Friday I plan to go to Pablo Rodriguez's workshop at Corks in Birmingham as I missed the last time he came to Tango Malvern. It's run by Michelle Brown and she will play alternative tango music from 10:30pm which should be interesting.  

Music for a Relaxed Practica in Malvern Tonight

It's another practica in Malvern tonight, the perfect way to dramatically improve your dance. This week I've put together two hours of relaxed music, except for a tanda of late-Troilo at 10pm.

Pre-Bank Holiday Tango

I plan to do this over the next few days.

On Wednesday I'm running another of my popular Practicas in Malvern. The practica is the authentic Argentine way to learn and progress tango. And this week I'm going to play tangos from the early fifties, apart from a handful from the late forties. Plus as usual there'll be a challenging tanda at ten o'clock.
